Why We're Asking

Oakland is a Compassionate and Creatitve City

Every day we are working to end the cost of living crisis in Oakland. We have a short term plan to address the homelessness crisis and a long term plan to produce 17,000 units of housing while protecting 17,000 residents from displacement by 2024.

You can read more about Oakland's "17K/17K Plan" here or watch a video of the 2017 State of the City address here.

Yet each day we work toward our goal, I also get asked by Oaklanders, "What can I do to help?"

This site answers that question and connects residents to providers.

On the left (pic above) is Miriam, an East Oakland landlord who connected with a BACS case manager (Gary, far right), to help rent to client Fatima (my left).

We are all in this together, Oakland.

We are a city of creativity and compassion. We can do this.
